Throwing it back to the mid-90’s with former Northwestern great, Darnell Autry. In his three years in the Wildcats’ backfield, Autry ran for 3,793 yards and totaled 222 total points. Autry was tabbed as a Heisman Trophy finalist and a Doak Walker Award (nation’s top college running back) in 1995 and 1996, respectively. In those same seasons, he helped Northwestern bring back-to-back Big Ten Conference titles back to Evanston. #ThrowbackThursday
Throwback Thursday to Damien Anderson (1997-2001). Anderson finished his career in Evanston as Northwestern’s all-time leading rusher with 4,485 yards.
In 2000, he busted out a record-setting season by becoming only the fourth player in Big Ten history to run for more than 2,000 yards in a single season.
Following his NU career, the Wilmington, Ill., native played four seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals and two years with the Edmonton Eskimos.
Wednesday morning’s “Max Out Week” workout featured squats, the 40-yard dash, broad jump and the vertical jump. Back at it tomorrow!
